WALK FOR WATER
Please join the Walk for Water event to raise awareness and raise money to bring safe water to the village of Ngulu in western Kenya. During the 3-mile walk around Windsor Lake, participants will carry a bucket of water for half of the walk to symbolize and personally experience the daily trek women and children make in Africa to collect water. You can WALK, VOLUNTEER, DONATE or ACTIVATE others to participate in this event on Saturday, August 29, 9:30-12:30 at Boardwalk Park. Check it out at the sign-up table today! Questions? Contact Dan Konzek (619-400-9192) or Ginny Davie (970-988-3291), or CLICK HERE for more information.
NO PARKING ZONE REMINDER
Just a friendly reminder that the street out in front of the church is now a no parking zone.
24 HOURS OF PRAYER AND FASTING
We invite everyone to participate in 24 hours of prayer and fasting from 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. September 5-6, wherever you are (home, vacation, camping, etc.). Consider signing up for an hour or two to pray for the following groups of people with whom we are collectively building relationships:
- Those who are not yet born again
- Those who have been born again, but do not "belong" to a local church family
- Christians who are new to the area and looking for a local church family
Sign up in the Welcome Center on Sunday or online on The Table any time! Remember, you can pray even if you don't fast!
"BREAK-FAST" BRUNCH ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6
We will NOT have a service on Sunday, September 6. Instead we will be at Diamond Valley Community Park enjoying a brunch together from 10-12. This will be a great way to BREAK A FAST and hang out together for a couple of hours…or the entire day:-). Please bring a favorite brunch item to share, and keep in mind we’ll be at an outdoor shelter (no electricity or big grills!).
SUPERHERO FUN RUN
Volunteers needed! We are assisting with the 3rd Annual “A Kid’s Place” Superhero fun run on Saturday, September 12th. “A Kid’s Place” exists to support and be advocates for foster children within the court system. This run brings awareness and much needed financial funding for their cause. WCC is asked to help again with the kids’ carnival following the run. Booths are open from 9-11am (with a little help on setting up/take down, possibly 8:00-11:30). We are in need of volunteers to run booths, hand out prizes, do face painting, etc. Any and all help is much appreciated! Please email or call Jen Coet if you are able to come, email@example.com or 970.331.5685. Also needed is a popcorn machine or shaved ice machine? Anyone’s hidden talent include making balloon animals? This is a great opportunity to get some community service hours (high schoolers…wink, wink).
Ladies, time for women of all ages and stages of life to be Refreshed, Encouraged And Loved! Mark your calendars for the first R.E.A.L Moms meeting on September 17 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Please join us and consider bringing a friend or neighbor! Pick up a card in the Welcome Center for the schedule and join the R.E.A.L. Moms Group on The Table. Questions? Contact Tonya Robinson at 970.988.3979 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Childcare is provided for preschool age and under for $2/child. A study room is available for older home-schooled children.
